Available Adult Colorado Mountain Dogs
For the first time, we are offering some of our fabulous adults as trained guardians.
Some have said that CMDs are like potato chips...you can't have just one! And we have definitely found this to be true.
As part of learning the breed, and learning our lines, we have kept one or two pups from each litter. We love each and every one of them - but that adds up to a lot of dogs! More than we need. As we think about moving our lines forward, we have been faced with the reality of too many dogs, and the need to downsize before we breed again. As a result, we are offering some of our best dogs to new families. They are hard to let go of and will only go to well vetted homes.
Each of these dogs have been loving and extremely well loved members of our family. They each have some pretty great strengths, and will make excellent additions to the right family.

Tarva is one of my absolute favorites. She is so gentle with kids, and greets all of our guests like family. Tarva is excellent with all of our animals - including poultry and baby goats. She has such a gentle spirit that she puts the baby goats instantly at ease.
She adores her people. For her this means having the ability to be able to come and go or take breaks rather than being exclusively with the animals. She is fully house trained and does well on a leash.
Tarva respects fences that are in place. She does not dig under or go over. Her one flaw is that she barks more than some of our other dogs.PDP Kona of BSK

Kona is the matriarch of our farm. She came to us from Tennessee and has the sweet sweet essence of her sire Gunther. She is a favorite here and will be hard to let go of. However, she gets a little more stressed with each new puppy pack, and is ready to retire from her position.
Kona is chicken safe, excellent with kittens, and so gentle with kids of all ages. While Kona is the smallest of all of our CMDs, she is one of the fiercest guardians. She loves to do her job, and also loves to come in for a nap. She would love to watch over a small farm and family where she can be a working pet. She does need a secure fence!
Kona does well with most dogs, but does the best with males. She would prefer to be in a home with a smaller pack or even as an only dog. She is fully house trained and altered.BSK Biscuit

Biscuit has been part of our family since the day he was born. His dam is BSK Lily — also bred and raised right here — and his sire is H2H Mingus of BSK. We know his temperament, his history, and his character inside and out, because we've been with him every step of the way.
He is one of those dogs that makes you remember why you fell in love with the breed. Deeply intelligent, quick to learn, and genuinely connected to his people — Biscuit wants to be good at his job and he wants to please the family he loves. Training him has been a real pleasure.
On our farm, he has proven himself with chickens, goats of all ages, cats, kittens, and young children. He is steady and gentle with those in his care, and remarkably discerning — he knows the difference between what belongs here and what doesn't, and handles himself accordingly. He is exactly what a working CMD should be.
