Fiber Goats

Pygora Goats

Welcome to our Pygora page!
Pygora goats are a breed of goat that was developed in the 1980s in the United States. They are a cross between Pygmy goats, which are known for their small size and friendly dispositions, and Angora goats, which are prized for their long, soft, and lustrous fiber. As a result, Pygora goats are a unique blend of these two breeds, combining the best qualities of both.
One of the main features of Pygora goats is their beautiful, soft fiber. The fiber comes in three different types: cashmere-like, mohair-like, and a combination of the two. Pygora goats are often used for fiber production, and their fiber is used to make a variety of products, including clothing, blankets, and yarn.
If you live in Arizona and are considering adding a Pygora goat to your farm or backyard, you'll be happy to know that these goats do well in our warm climate. In addition to their fiber production, Pygora goats are also popular as pets and show animals in Arizona. They are intelligent, inquisitive, and have a friendly personality, making them great companions for people of all ages. They are also easy to handle and care for, making them a suitable choice for those new to goat ownership.
We have the only registered herd of Pygora goats in Arizona. Our herd has a beautiful mix of colors ranging from pure white, to pure black, with tans and browns in between.
